3 Valentine's Day Learning Activities

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Holidays are always a good opportunity to combine themed activities with learning. For this holiday, we're focusing on fine motor skills activities you can do with your preschooler leading up to the day of love. We hope you enjoy these ideas, and if you try them out, be sure to leave a comment letting us know!

This activity is based on using the free heart printable provided. You can use this printable with ordinary dot stickers to create a Valentine’s-themed letter and number matching game.

To make the game a little more challenging, have your child match capital letters with lowercase. This game is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers to practice letter and number recognition.

  1. Heart Scissor Skills Puzzles

This simple preschool activity is easy to prep and pull off using materials you probably already have at home. All you need are safety scissors, construction paper, and a pen. Cut heart shapes out of the construction paper, and draw various kinds of lines for your preschooler to practice following with scissors.

  1. Valentine’s Day Math Set

Via A Little Pinch of Perfect

You can use this free printable set all at once, or over the course of several days/weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day. This set helps your child practice number recognition and counting skills. She can use color or paint to decorate each page, and Valentine’s candy (like conversation hearts) can make counting a little more festive.

We hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!

Take care,
